  • Today I’m going to show you how to stay in balance during a golf swing.
  • To stay in balance, finding the center of your stance is very important. The head and the spine stays as still as possible.
  • There shouldn’t be that much tension in the neck and shoulders.
  • What you want to do is to engage your lower body and relax your shoulders so that way your center stays still.
  • How do you engage your lower body and use your lower body for your movements?
    • Avoid tensing your shoulders and neck during your stance.
    • Drop your shoulders away from your ears so they are very relaxed.
    • Press down into the balls of your feet to feel your quads engage.
    • Use your abs by tensing and sucking them in.
  • The down swing
    • The center has to shift to the left leg (finish in the left leg, make a wall, etc..) and use the momentum to power through the ball.
    • The order of the downswing is very important.
    • I show you a drill for the downswing involving the impact bag.
